China News Service, Changsha, November 1st (Reporter Tang Xiaoqing) – On November 1st, the 2025 China Padel Tour CPT-125 and Hunan Provincial Padel Tour kicked off in Changsha. More than 80 players from home and abroad participated, including 7 overseas Chinese from Italy.
Padel is an emerging sport that combines the characteristics of tennis and squash, and is particularly popular in doubles matches. As a key stop of the China Padel Tour, this event features three competition categories: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles in the Adult Group. In accordance with the competition regulations, a single-elimination plus play-off system is adopted to determine the top 8 finishers.

The overseas Chinese players from Italy participating in this event are from the Italy Padel Club. Founded jointly by a group of second and third-generation overseas Chinese who love padel, the club has grown from a dozen initial players to more than 160 members today, and has become one of the most influential padel communities in the Italian Chinese circle.
"Padel Club is not only a club, but also a warm big family that unites the strength of the overseas Chinese community," said Wu Shijie, president of the Prato Padel Club in Italy. He noted that the team's participation in the competition back in China aims to make friends through padel, bring advanced overseas techniques, tactics and event experience back to their ancestral homeland, and interpret the unity, friendship and sportsmanship of overseas Chinese.
The organizers stated that the competition is held in a fully enclosed venue, featuring a fast pace and many rallies. Athletes can use the surrounding walls to rebound and hit the ball, which makes the competition full of uncertainty and places extremely high requirements on players' prediction, coordination and tactical execution. The participation of the Italian overseas Chinese team has improved the competitive level and spectatorship of the event, and will also make the Hunan Station a bridge connecting Chinese and foreign padel cultural exchanges.
To encourage players to achieve excellent results, the event organizing committee will award prizes to the top 16 teams, with each group champion receiving a reward of 2,000 yuan RMB per team. At the same time, all participating players will obtain corresponding China Padel Tour points based on their competition results. (End)
