On October 15th, the Chinese national team for the 2025 FIP Padel Asian Cup, organized by the Sichuan Padel Tennis Association, officially departed from Chengdu for Doha, Qatar to compete in the inaugural Padel Asian Cup. The tournament will run from October 15th to October 25th.
Entrusted by the Chinese Tennis Association to form the team in full, the Sichuan Padel Tennis Association has dispatched a delegation consisting of 24 players and support staff. The establishment of the Chinese national team in Sichuan also signifies that Sichuan has formed significant development advantages in the padel event.

As a pioneer in promoting padel in China, Sichuan has not only taken the lead in building standardized venues and organizing regular events, but also cultivated a large number of professional talents. Its full responsibility for forming the Chinese national team this time is a high recognition of Sichuan's advantages in the sport. The team completed pre-competition training in Chengdu from October 7th to 14th. Relying on the local mature training support system, it finished the final sprint preparations focusing on tactical refinement and physical
fitness reserve.

Yang Xinchen, Executive President of the Sichuan Padel Tennis Association and Team Leader of the Chinese national team for this event, stated: "The Chinese national team's departure from Sichuan to compete in the inaugural Asian Cup is a concentrated display of the development achievements of padel in Sichuan. The players will carry the fighting spirit of Chinese sports, showcase China's elegance on the international stage, and let Asia witness the light of China's padel development!"

Padel, also known as paddle tennis, is a small-ball sport derived from tennis. Combining the characteristics of tennis and squash, it is played with wooden paddles. First proposed by F.P. Beal from the United States in 1921, the first national tournament was held in the U.S. in 1940. Introduced to China in the 1930s, it was once included in the physical education curriculum at Yenching University.
The competition rules adopt the tennis scoring system: a single game is decided by 4 points, following the "two-point advantage after deuce" rule; a single set is determined by 6 games, and the regular match format is best-of-three sets.
